Westside Notes

"Gratitude is the memory of the heart."

                       — French proverb

Welcome to Westside Notes. Hope your holidays were good ones for you and I hope your New Year is full of fun, balance and connection. I had the opportunity to spend two weeks in Spain over the holidays and have tremendous gratitude for re-charging in such a warm, festive culture. After returning to Santa Monica, it also reminds me how grateful I am for the community here in Southern California.

New Associate Joins the Practice

In November Ana Adal joined my psychotherapy practice and I’m very pleased to have her as part of the team. Having traveled extensively throughout the world, Ana appreciates the nuances of cultural diversity and is trilingual in Spanish and French. Currently, she has evening and Saturday appointments available, and Ana works on a sliding scale so please keep her in mind for future referrals. You may call her directly at 310.280.9966 or visit our website at www.westsidetherapist.com for more detailed information about both of my talented associates.

Women’s Group Now Forming
(beginning Spring 2008)

Ana Adal, M.A. and Ruth S. Schneider, Ph.D. will be co-facilitating a women’s psychotherapy group on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month from 7-8:45pm in our West Los Angeles office. The cost of the group will be $160 monthly and all group members must have been in therapy in the past or currently have an individual therapist. The group still has a few openings remaining so please contact either Ruth (818.906.7568) or Ana (310.280.9966) for more details.

Resource of the Month

This month’s resource is an L.A. gem called S.H.A.R.E. (The Self-Help and Recovery Exchange). Not only is it a self-help center in West L.A. that serves host to over 50 meetings a week, but they also have a countywide database of over 7000 12-step and self-help meetings representing 400 different programs.
